We were looking for a spot after a day at SoJo Spa and I had a hankering for Beef Pan Fried Noodles. Found this place right across the street which was convenient since we were super hungry. The food was fresh and delicious AND the BEST beef pan fried noodle I've had in a long time! Staff was friendly however as it got busy it took a few tries to get a refill from our waitress. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

This place is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese flavors, it’s definitely worth a visit. We ordered three entrées—one fish and two chicken dishes—along with sides of lo mein and fried rice. Each entrée came with a bowl of white rice, which was a nice touch. The standout dish for me was the Fish Fillet with Ginger, Scallions, and Hot Peppers. The flavors were well-balanced, and the fish was so good I saved it for last. Among the chicken dishes, we tried the Szechuan Style Fried Diced Chicken and the Chicken with Garlic Sauce. The fried chicken was solid, but the garlic sauce dish was a pleasant surprise—something new for us and definitely worth trying. I recommend pairing it with the spicy sauce they provide; it’s flavorful without being too hot. The lo mein tasted fresh, like it had just come out of the wok, and complemented the mains nicely. We also ordered soup dumplings as an appetizer. They were served hot, but didn’t quite meet our expectations—we’ve had better elsewhere. Overall, the food was satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable. Great flavors without breaking the bank.

I had the orange chicken with rice, and it was delicious rich flavor and great texture. The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive, although the wait time for our dishes was about 40 minutes. The best part is the location. There’s access to the deck right by the river, which makes for an amazing view while you enjoy your meal if the weather is nice. Plus, the shared parking lot has plenty of spaces, which is very convenient. Overall, a great spot to visit for tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere by the water.

It was our first time coming here and we enjoyed our time. We really liked the sesame chicken and scallion pancakes. The chicken fried rice was okay, we weren’t a fan of the chicken. Service was great!

Price: Fairly priced appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts Food: DELICIOUS. The salt and pepper squid was incredible. Black bean clams were also super flavorful. Entrees were portioned and plated extremely well. Each dish full of aromatic flavors. Service: Everyone was super kind. Owner of the restaurant was engaging and friendly. Shared restaurant history and dish recommendations with us. Environment: Inside was decorated beautifully. Encouraged a welcoming vibe. Outside was a breathtaking view of the city once you look past the river lol. NTT [[Next Time Try]]: I want to try it all. Looking forward to ordering other things I didn’t try this time when I return.

While visiting a friend before she dropped me back off at my hotel for the evening, we came to River House Chinese for dinner. Located in an inconspicuous strip mall right off the Hudson River, there was ample parking. We were seated right away because we came pretty close to closing time, but they did not seem bothered by this. I was ecstatic to see that they served Singapore noodles, one of my absolute favorite Chinese dishes. My friend ordered orange chicken and was thrilled. The service was fast and friendly. Our food came out quickly and was piping hot. The Singapore noodles were absolutely delicious and had tons of succulent shrimp and fresh vegetables. My friend remarked that the orange chicken was some of the best she had had in the area. So if you were looking for some tasty Chinese food near Edgewater, come check this place out.
